Advice

When it comes to navigating your way through a field of cattle, there is plenty of advice out there. Some of it is good, some of it is bad, and some of it is just plain useless.

In this area, we aim to collect all the various pieces of advice together.

Please be aware that no advice works 100% of the time. We know of many walkers who were behaving sensibly and carefully, following the standard procedures and guidance, and who still ended up being chased by cattle and, in some cases, severely injured.

What to do after an injury?

To sue or not to sue? This is something you must consider carefully. We give our opinion here. Read how Libby successfully sued a farmer for compensation after a cattle attack, and take a look at David’s account of pitfalls and delays.

If you have any useful (or useless) pieces of advice you wish to share, please feel free to add in the comments sections below. But, beware. We reserve the right to add your comments to one of our collections – and to decide exactly which collection it belongs in!
