On the 30th May, 2020, I was walking from Acle to Berney Arms along the Weavers Way path. The incident happened after passing through Halvergate and crossing the Fleet river into open countryside.
Two of us were walking along the footpath, which went through a field of cows that had calves. We walked slowly and tried to move around the cows to stay out of their way. They initially seemed non-threatening, but soon began to charge towards us – and nearly ran into us. Fortunately we were close to a fence and managed to avoid them by jumping over it to safety.
Nobody was injured, but it was a frightening experience.
