On the 14th June this year, we were walking through the field on a public footpath. We had got more than half way through, when the cows all started heading towards us. Our dog was on lead and quiet all the time.
When we realised most of the cows were coming towards us, we turned direction and headed back the way we came. Half the herd continued to follow us.
With two very scared children in tow, we made it back to stile and out of the field. At one point we must of had about twenty cows following us. It was so scary for everyone.
There should be warning signs up, or a safe walking area should be provided.
This happened near Ripley, in Derbyshire, in a field off the Coach Road near the Golden Valley Campsite. I will be contacting the council to inform them.
Nobody was hurt but we were badly frightened.
